Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution-focused hypnotherapy is collaborative, positive forward-focused therapy. Using a combination of talking therapy and hypnosis, positive change can be realised in a relatively short period.

​

A vital component of the solution-focused approach to therapy is the belief that you have the ability to find solutions to your issues and challenges.

 

We work together, focusing on where you are at present and looking towards your preferred future. By visualising possible solutions, you gain insights that can help you create a more positive mindset enabling you to think about your life in a positive way which helps to build new healthy patterns of behaviour.

For many solution focused hypnotherapy is something new; this call offers you an opportunity to find out more, ask any questions,

and then if you wish book a

free 60-minute Initial Session with me via Zoom. 

There is no hypnosis during this session.



 The Initial Session
gives you a chance to meet me face-to-face via Zoom.

 

It is a free one-hour session; we can discuss how you would like me to help you in more depth and identify what you would like to achieve from our sessions. 

 

Find out how our brains work and an insight into the neuroscience behind why we suffer in the way we do and what we can do about it. 

 

We will also look at hypnosis, although there is no hypnosis during this session. It’s an opportunity to understand better the type of hypnosis experienced during solution-focused hypnotherapy sessions; I best describe it as a state of deep relaxation and focused attention. Unlike stage hypnosis which many people have seen on TV, it is not mind-control. During solution-focused hypnosis, you will always remain in control and focus on what you want to achieve, aided by positive suggestions tailored to your goal.

We complete our session with a free link to an MP3 hypnotic relaxation trance recording for you to listen to at home and, if you wish, an appointment for our next session.

Sessions are designed to be light-hearted, enjoyable, and upbeat, a blend of talking therapy and hypnosis.

 

We begin each session reflecting on what has been more positive in your week; by doing so, we establish a more optimistic outlook by activating the neural connections with your more positive.

'Intellectual Brain'. 

 

With a positive mindset, it is possible to think about what you would like to achieve and envision the small steps you can take in the next week to move you towards your ultimate goal.

It is then time for you to get comfortable and relax into Hypnosis. Trance is a very natural state of being; you can rest assured that you will never lose control of your behaviours. You will allow your mind to process thoughts through a deep, focused awareness state in which you have heightened focus and concentration.

 

Ultimately you become more empowered to make the changes you desire more easily and naturally.

Results vary from person to person; it is a personal journey experienced differently by everyone. Some notice rapid change, whilst others may notice subtle change over a more extended period of time. The number of sessions required is a personal choice, you simply book sessions with me as required.

  • How can hypnotherapy help me?
    Solution-focused hypnotherapy focuses on the present time and looks to the future with a positive mindset, looking at how you want your future to be rather than dwelling on the problems of the past. Positive thinking helps us to act more positively and develop positive interactions with others, promoting healthy behaviour patterns. Solution-focused hypnotherapy is not passive. It is a collaborative process designed to reduce anxiety, enable relaxation and promote a positive mindset. It is with commitment and partnership that you will see the best results. Please note that results may vary from person to person. Some notice a difference straight away, while others notice more subtle changes over time.
  • Is hypnotherapy suitable for everyone?
    Hypnosis may not be appropriate for people with severe mental health issues, such as psychotic symptoms, including hallucinations and delusions. It might also be inappropriate for someone who uses drugs or alcohol in excess.
  • What happens if I'm running late or need to cancel?
    If you are running late, please let me know as soon as possible. I will do my best to make an entire session available, but this often depends on appointments after your booking and so cannot be guaranteed. If your session needs to be curtailed due to your late arrival, then the session fee remains payable in full. My cancellation policy requires at least 24 hours' notice of cancellation via telephone, text or email. The entire session fee may apply if an appointment is cancelled with less notice.
  • How much does it cost?
    The agreed fee per session is stated on my services and fees page. Fees are payable by the start of each session by using the pay button found on the fees and booking page. Payments must be made before the first session if you are booking a block of four discounted sessions.
  • Are online sessions effective?
    Since the pandemic’s start, we have all had to find new ways of working and staying connected. The advent of online therapy, in my experience, has proven to be both positive and effective. Clients tell me that they enjoy the process and find that being in their own space increases their sense of comfort and well-being. Zoom is a secure video conferencing program to meet and chat online. I use a secure cable connection to ensure stable connectivity. Rest assured; all sessions are confidential; I never record sessions. To get started, you will need access to a laptop, a computer, or a tablet. Please ensure your device’s microphone and camera are working. A good connection is also essential. Having somewhere to set your device down will help to keep disruption or distraction to a minimum. You will need to have a private space to have a conversation. It is also essential to have somewhere comfortable to relax during hypnosis; having a pillow and blanket to hand is also helpful.
